IAMIP from Sweden is one of the 25 best startups that Business Sweden will include in its "Swedish Hotspot” at Slush.
Everyone is coming to Slush
Slush position as a hot venue is quickly confirmed when you see the people involved. There are speakers, motivators, investors and business owners.
Here we find prominent names like Niklas Zennström (Skype), Bruce Upbin (Forbes), Marcus Wallenberg (Chairman of SEB), Riccardo Zacconi (King), Jyrki Katainen (EU Commission), Martti Ahtisaari (President of Finland), Tom Hulme (Google Ventures) and many more.
14,000 participants and over 3,500 startups visited Slush in 2014. On site you could also find more than 700 venture capitalists and nearly 3,800 prearranged meetings took place. This is the environment that the Swedish think tank IAMIP with its innovative and big data-powered software P²ALS will be placed on November 11-12.
"We are excited and curious about what our participation will lead to. We really fit into this community since Slush stems from the superhot area of ICT, Information Communication Technology, the backbone of our software P²ALS. It´s our first time at Slush but we have already been in contact with some of the renowned investors and other companies that want to meet us on site, according to Dimitris Giannoccaro, the Founder and CEO of IAMIP.”
A development boost
Despite the fact that IAMIP started as late as February 2013, the company's innovation capability has already been recognized and praised twice. The first time when IAMIP was appointed a Vinn Nu (Win Now) company by the Swedish innovation agency Vinnova in 2013. Later that year they were awarded the City of Stockholm's Innovation Award, the biggest innovation prize in Sweden.
"The fact that Business Sweden wants us in their "Swedish Hotspot" is incredibly exciting and honorable. You need an occasional "boost" from time to time as a proof that it´s not just us who think that what we do is important to the development and competitiveness of innovative companies. Which innovative company would not be interested in, for example, being able to predict technological developments in their own field of technology? Our current customers are already benefiting from that possibility, says Dimitris Giannoccaro with a smile."
VIP meetings with selected investors and Finnish businesses
Slush is a gigantic forum. During the two intense days, meetings takes place on stages, in the startup booths and in the corridors where investors and startups discuss potential collaborations. IAMIP is also looking forward to interesting meetings arranged by Business Sweden. A Hotspot Venture Lunch with forty selected investors and Hotspot Network Dinner with renowned guests from Finnish businesses.
To make it easy for investors to find the Swedish gold nuggets, and to be able to get a picture of each business, Business Sweden has created a unique website where IAMIP and the other 24 companies present themselves.
"With an imminent international expansion, we hope to make a number of contacts at Slush supported by Business Sweden. Companies that want to join us on this international journey shouldn´t wait for too long, says Dimitris."
