Before the finalists got their chance to pitch and to present their innovation and business potential, we got to listen to some prestigious speakers, for example the Swedish Minister of Enterprise, Mr. Mikael Damberg and Prof. Dr. Henning Zoz, CEO & President of Zoz Group, Professor Michael Persson, Akzo Nobel PPC, Mohammed Homman, Vironova and Dr Per-Olof Larsson, Höganäs.
A not altogether unanimous jury appointed a winner
The jury consisting of Björn O Nilsson, IVA, Anders Eliasson, Business Sweden, Tord Lendau, Lendau Capital AB, Adam Feiler, Nanologica AB, Ervin Dubaric, IAMIP Sverige AB, Giovanni Fili, Exeger AB and Åsalie Hartmanis, CEO SwedNanotech had a hard time deciding who should win the prestigious title. Maybe not so hard to understand after having listened to three stunning presentations describing unique applications and services within the area of nanotechnology, very different from each other but full of energy and exciting business opportunities.
The finalists were judged in the criterias nano content, customers/sales, business plan, economics, scalability and presentation. When finally the company ChromoGenics could be declared as the winner, no one protested. Besides having developed a unique product they have also managed to create a strong and clear marketing concept.
A short presentation of the combatants
ChromoGenics: The company with the smart glass ConverLight. A unique glass surface created using nanotechnology where you can control the transparency of glass.
Disruptive Materials: The company that was formed around the material Upsalite, a material that can absorb moisture like almost nothing else can. Since the start in 2013, thousands of potential customers has showed interest in the material.
CR Competence: A consulting firm with expertise in chemistry and physics. They have supervised many projects, such as in nano chemistry, nano physics and nano-medicine.
The finalists´prizes – a unique competitive advantage from IAMIP
All three finalists will now have the opportunity to strengthen their competitive prerequisites as they will get to utilize the groundbreaking tool P2ALS from IAMIP − where you extract competitive information, track patents, find and follow interesting technologies and drive innovations efficiently.
"This opportunity will most certainly bring new and actionable insights to the already competitive businesses of the finalists says Ervin Dubaric, nanotechnology expert from IAMIP."
