    Reading an article about "New method uses patent data to estimate a technology’s future rate of improvement", made me show a big happy smile.

    Reading the exciting article in IPWatchdog about “New method uses patent data to estimate a technology’s future rate of improvement”, originally published by MIT News under the title: Patents forecast technological change: New method uses patent data to estimate a technology’s future rate of improvement, made me show a big happy smile. This article pinpoints a truly unique characteristic, only to be found in patent big data. And I am happy to see that someone else is also digging deep into this subject.

    As a matter of fact, already in 2010, me and a former colleague at the Swedish Patent and Registration Office published an article (page 10) in the EPO publication “Patent Information News” on this very subject, with a slightly different angle.

    My personal recommendation

    In order not to risk making this too long a story, I suggest that you ask for this type of actionable insights when you want to speed up your development projects and step ahead of your competitors…
